Brain Spa: Myofascial Release and Sound Bath

CA$84.07

BRAIN SPA: a Myofascial Release and SOUND BATH experience.

On February 21st at Noon Espe, we will be offering a new workshop at the studio, a combination of yoga, somatic movement, myofascial release and a sound healing journey.

New Neuroscience & Sound Bathing studies show that combining the 2 therapies benefits our body and mind. Here is what the research shows:

• Brainwave regulation Sound baths use steady rhythms and tones that help the brain shift from high-stress beta waves into alpha and theta waves, which are associated with relaxation, meditation, creativity, and deep nervous system rest.

• Nervous system down-regulation Slow, harmonic sounds stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest-and-digest). This reduces cortisol (stress hormone) and supports vagus nerve activation, helping the body feel safe and calm.

•Brain Awareness Neuroscience calls this auditory entrainment—the brain naturally synchronizes its electrical activity to external rhythmic stimuli. This is why repetitive sounds can calm the mind and bring mental clarity.

• Improved emotional regulation Studies show sound-based meditation can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and increase feelings of connection and well-being by engaging the limbic system, the brain’s emotional center.

• Body–brain connection Sound travels not only through the ears but also through the body as vibration. These vibrations can help release muscular tension and improve body awareness, reinforcing the mind–body connection and building resiliency in the body.

Myofascial release works with your nervous system, Neuroscience shows that slow, sustained pressure helps signal safety to the brain, reducing protective tension and allowing the fascia to soften. When the brain feels safe, the body releases tension. 🧠🤍
